Mission
Cabo Verde Children's mission is to:
Improve the nutrition of families and children, including
adolescents, through monthly financial commitment, access to
basic social services and adequate caring practices.
Strengthen education systems and expand outreach programs to
increase access to integrated and effective health, nutrition
and childcare in families, communities and schools facilities,
including prompt attention to orphan children.
Create awareness to ensure that children with disability have
access to quality education on the same basis as other children.
Create, with children, a child-friendly learning environment, in
which they feel safe, are protected from abuse, violence and
discrimination, and are healthy and encouraged to learn.
Strengthen early childhood care and education by providing
resources, developing and supporting programs directed to
families, legal guardians, caregivers and communities.
Promote innovative projects to provide incentives to low-income
families with school-age children to increase the enrolment and
attendance of girls and boys and to ensure that they are not
obliged to work in a way that interferes with their schooling.
Address the changing role of men in society, as boys,
adolescents and fathers, and the challenges faced by boys
growing up in today’s world. Further promote the shared
responsibility of both parents in education and in the raising
of children, and make every effort to ensure that fathers have
opportunities to participate in their children’s lives.
