should submit an overview and mission statement of the
organization and a brief statement on how it benefits the
children of Cabo Verde around the world.

The mission of New Guinea Settlement project is to:
1. Research, educate and promote positive contributions of
Africans during the Revolutionary War of the United States
with special focus on the four African American veterans that
lived on the settlement. Research, educate and promote
positive contributions of Capeverdeans in America’s history.
2. Research, educate and promote ties that exist between the
continent of Africa and the United States by focusing on the
value of “Bridging History with Community.”
3. Develop a state-of-the-art Museum of History to display
artifacts acquired from archeological digs of New Guinea
settlement and artistic work of the community.
4. Develop a state-of-the-art Research and Cultural Center
that researches Diversity issues and promotes African heritage
and traditional culture and values.
5. Increasing educational opportunities for community
advancement through scholarship funds, youth and children’s
development programs.
6. Develop New Guinea National Park in order to promote and
re-enact the first days of slavery in the United States.
